Socialist Republic of Vietnam is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. This trip we plan to travel around Central Vietnam.
4 MAY 2007 - aboard
Start at Bangkok to Mukdahan by bus over night. In the morning, we go to Savannakhet -Laos using the second Thai–Lao friendship bridge over the Mekong river. A van bring us to Dong Ha -Vietnam (separating North and South Vietnam during the war: at 17 horizontal line). In the evening, we are at Hue and check in at a guest house. It takes around 10 hours from Mukdahan to Hue.
5 MAY 2007 - Hue
We have breakfast near the guest house and go to Imperial Citadel. It is a walled fortress and palace in the city of Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. The grounds of the Imperial City are protected by fortified ramparts 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers, and ringed by a moat. The water in the moat is routed from the Huong River through a series of sluice gates.Inside the Citadel is the Imperial City, with a perimeter wall some 2.5 kilometers in length. Within the Imperial City is the Purple Forbidden City. Next, we have lunch and walk to Thien Mu Pagoda. It is around 5 km from Imperial Citadel. The pagoda sits on the Ha Khe hill. It is a historic temple in the city. Its pagoda has seven stories and is the tallest religious building in Vietnam. It is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital.
6 MAY 2007 - Da Nang
We check out in the morning and go to Da Nang. It takes around 3 hours. First, we go to Da Nang beach by walk. Next, we go to Da Nang Cathedral (Roman Catholic diocese). Lastly, Cham museum (sculpture museum). The famous food here is pork wrapped with rice pancake (Banh Trang Cuon Thit Heo).
We check out in the morning and go to Hoi An. It takes around 45 minutes. Our guesthouse is locate in the old town of Hoi An. The famous food here is Baguette (Banh Mi). It looks like sandwich, in US call Po-boy.

In the evening, we hang out over Thu bon river view with a lot of beer.
8 - 9 MAY 2007 - come back
The trip is finished and we come back to Thailand. I would like to thank my friend for this trip.
